Burmilla cats originated from Britain in 1981. The Burmilla breed was a cross bred by mating a lilac Burmese and chinchilla silver Persian. The Burmilla breed has both long haired and short haired cats. Since the silver Chinchilla Persian is a long haired cat, obviously some Burmilla cats have a long fur coat and beautiful colored eyes. The eyes of the Burmilla are very sharp and attractive.

Usually Burmilla cats have a silver fur coat throughout its head, legs and tail.  Burmilla moves great with the children. The Burmilla breed generally has a very good personality. The bone structure of the Burmilla breed is really strong and impressive. Burmilla female cats are generally shorter than the male cats.


The Burmilla breeds skin texture is very smooth and it has a silky smooth feel to it. It is a social breed of cat that has a kind and soft personality. It easily mingles with adults, children. The Burmilla cats colors are usually black, brown, chocolate brown, cream and platinum colors. A Burmilla cat needs a companion to roam with. The Burmilla breed is generally a playful, kind and a gentle breed. The Burmilla is a friendly cat which can get along with everyone easily.
