Burmilla Breeding
Acquiring the best qualities of any breed is our wish, but the truth is we can’t always get the best every time. The Burmilla seems to be the one exception the rule. The Burmilla breed is a breed of cat which was first cross bred in the 1980s when an accidental mating between Persian chinchilla and Burmese cat happened in United Kingdom.

It was found that the litter of kittens born seemed to acquired all the special features from its parents which made them an instant success. The chinchilla parent passes on the appearance of green color eyes and mascara lining to the kitten. The first generation Burmilla kittens did not have green eyes, instead they had black colored eyes present. Since green eyed gene acted as a recessive gene the next generation of Burmilla kitten where born with green eye colors. Whether it was homozygous or heterozygous they resulted with green eyed Burmilla kittens.
The color and body structure is obtained from the chinchilla breed, the size is determined by the genes of Burmese species. Burmese are fun loving, soft while the chinchilla breed are a bit more curious, and noisy. Most of the time the combination of these characteristics are noticed. But in general they fair well with people and pets. They are little talkative but not to the extent of Siamese.
